Dolton is a village in Thornton Township, Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 21,426 at the 2020 census. Dolton is located just west of the expressway Interstate 94 and immediately south of the city limits of Chicago. It is the childhood home of Robert Francis Prevost, who is now Pope Leo XIV, the first pope from the United States.
