A section of Alabama highway was temporarily closed when an escaped kangaroo entered the roadway and caused a two-vehicle crash.

Authorities in Alabama helped catch a culprit with a distinctive hopping gait, reddish-brown fur and a pouch on Tuesday after the suspect caused a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 85. Macon County Sheriff André Brunson filmed a social media live stream from the scene.

Some Alabamans thought they might have been transported to Australia when they saw a kangaroo hopping along down the highway. The Macon County Sheriff says the animal got loose and made its way to an interstate,
