The FBI is investigating a bomb threat made Sunday on Allegiant Air Flight 1023 that forced the plane to return to St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport minutes after takeoff.

At 2:03 p.m., Allegiant Air Flight 1023 took off from St. Pete–Clearwater International Airport en route to Roanoke, Virginia. According to PIE’s on-call public information officer, two passengers aboard the plane got into a verbal altercation shortly after takeoff, prompting one of them to threaten that there was a bomb on board.

A plane that was en route to Roanoke on Sunday had to turn around and return to St. Pete–Clearwater International Airport in Florida due to a bomb threat issued by a passenger.
