Jesse Chavez is calling it quits. The 41-year-old right-hander announced his retirement from baseball after 18 big league seasons during an appearance on “Foul Territory” on Thursday. “As of now, I don’t think we’re going to keep going,” Chavez said. “I think this is it. Time to turn the page and focus on the next chapter of life.”

The 41-year-old reliever had been designated for assignment multiple times this season by the team with whom he won a World Series in 2021.
