Grocery retail chain Aldi has purchased a small handful of Big Lots locations less than a year after Big Lots filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and announced plans to close hundreds of stores.
Aldi is opening a new store early next year at 1538 N. Morton St., said Laura Bauer, the Greenwood divisional vice president for the German chain. This is where Franklin’s Big Lots used to be.
