The LA Clippers and Bradley Beal made it official on Friday, agreeing to terms on a two-year deal after the former Sun cleared waivers.

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is the only NBA player with a no-trade clause after the Phoenix Suns bought out the contract of Bradley Beal, who has since agreed to a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Beal's use of just the peace emoji to say goodbye prompted laughs from several other stars across the NBA. Former teammate Durant simply commented a laughing emoji on his post. Another former Suns teammate, Tyus Jones, who recently signed with the Magic, commented "aye man" with two laughing emojis.

All this comes after the Phoenix Suns traded superstar Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks and the 10th pick (Khaman Maluach) in the 2025 NBA Draft. The Boston Celtics also began a refresh by trading Jrue Holiday to the Portland Trailblazers and Kristaps Porziņģis to the Atlanta Hawks.

The Phoenix Suns are reportedly very eager to part ways with Bradley Beal, but cutting ties with him isn’t easy. That’s because Beal has a very specific and unique contract, so he has to be deeply involved in any potential trade.

An analyst believes that the Los Angeles Lakers will win a championship if they land a star player from the Phoenix Suns.

ESPN's Shams Charania broke the news Wednesday that Beal would be bought out by the Phoenix Suns and sign a two-year, $11 million deal with the Clippers. The Lakers may not have ever been the front-runners for Beal. Milwaukee and Golden State were also reported as possible destinations.
