It's not surprising to see Microsoft promoting Copilot over rival AIs in Edge - but I'm still disappointed by this latest 'nudge'.
Microsoft really wants you to use Copilot. In fact, if you try to use ChatGPT or Perplexity in Edge, it'll beg you to try Copilot. Pretty please?
If you visit ChatGPT.com or Perplexity.AI in Microsoft Edge, you’ll notice a subtle nudge to “Try Copilot.” The alert appears within Edge’s address bar. If you tap on the alert, it’ll open Copilot in Edge’s sidebar. This is a clever idea to remind those who open ChatGPT in Edge to try Copilot, which is also powered by OpenAI’s GPT-5.
Microsoft is now prompting Edge users to try Copilot when visiting AI sites like ChatGPT, DeepSeek, or Perplexity.
