While world leaders bicker over the prospects for peace, the deadliest conflict in Europe since World War Two is heating up fast.

Russia launched an unprecedented wave of aerial attacks on Ukraine between May 24 and 26, deploying 903 drones and 92 missiles over three consecutive nights, marking the most intense bombardment since the start of the war.

Russian air defences destroyed or intercepted well over 100 Ukrainian drones over various Russian regions, including a swarm of drones heading for Moscow, officials said early on Wednesday. The incidents were similar to waves of Ukrainian drone attacks targeting Moscow and other cities last week.
