Retired WWE wrestler Mick Foley announced on Tuesday, Dec. 16 that he is cutting ties with WWE over its close relationship with President Donald Trump. Foley said Trump’s inflammatory comments in the wake of director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Reiner’s murders were the 'final straw.

Speaking during a Q&A with “Inside The Ropes,” Foley looked back on the segment and praised Punk for standing up for him behind the scenes. Foley explained that Punk refused to deliver a scripted line that took a shot at Foley’s weight.
