Police are searching for a 57-year-old man after the killings of a state lawmaker and her husband, and the shooting of a state senator in a separate attack.

The man sought by authorities for allegedly shooting Democratic lawmakers in Minnesota on Saturday worked for a security company that advertised a fleet of ‘police type vehicles.’

Authorities are searching for a 57-year-old man after two Democratic lawmakers and their spouses were shot. State Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband were killed.

Hortman, a Democrat, and her husband were shot at their home in Brooklyn Park, a city north of Minneapolis, on Saturday morning by a man dressed as a police officer, authorities said. Police are still searching for the suspect, named by the FBI as 57-year-old Vance Boelter, who escaped following a shootout with officers.

A cryptic message sent to roommates is just one of many unanswered questions surrounding the suspect who remains at large.
