EXCLUSIVE: In a deal that will bring James Wan back in touch the mega horror IP he first directed and co-wrote, we hear that Blumhouse is acquiring the perspective rights to Twisted Pictures’ portion of the Saw franchise.

If a deal makes, then James Wan, who directed the first movie and launched the horror franchise with Leigh Whannel, would get an ownership stake in his creation.

Blumhouse is in talks to acquire the rights to Twisted Pictures’ portion of the “Saw” horror film franchise, according to media reports. Lionsgate owns 50% of the franchise and will continue to be involved as a partner. Deadline first reported the news.
