It has been a disappointing end of the 2024-25 Serie A campaign for Inter and the Nerazzurri manager Simone Inzaghi as the Italian giants failed to win back-to-back titles after winning the past season their 20th Serie A title and the so-called "second star.

Napoli needed only to do the same or better than defending champion Inter Milan in the final round of matches, so Inter’s 2-0 win at 10-man Como wasn’t enough for the Nerazzurri. The results meant Napoli finished Serie A one point ahead of Inter.

Napoli clinched their second Serie A title in three seasons after edging out Inter Milan thanks to a 2-0 home victory over Cagliari in a dramatic finale to the season on Friday.
