While a total lunar eclipse takes place tonight, here's what to know about the next total solar eclipse in the U.S.

The total lunar eclipse will begin around 1:09 a.m. on March 14. This happens when the moon passes through the earth’s shadow. According to the director of the Versant Power Astronomy Center, one would assume the moon would go completely dark.
