Texas hired former Florida and South Carolina coach Will Muschamp as defensive coordinator on Thursday. Coach Steve Sarkisian announced the staff shakeup after his team missed the College Football Playoff. Muschamp was the defensive coordinator at Texas from 2008-2010 and was a defensive analyst at Georgia this season.
Texas' defense ranked 36th in the nation in yards allowed per game, but now the Longhorns are turning back the clock and bringing back Will Muschamp to run that side of the ball.
Steve Sarkisian is undoubtedly keying in on a roster overhaul he will have to undertake this offseason; however, adding to Sarkisian's plate has been a number of coaching staff changes he has made, with one of the biggest coming on Thursday afternoon.
Muschamp won two national championships as part of the coaching staff for the Georgia Bulldogs under Kirby Smart.
