Empire Offshore Wind, a subsidiary of Equinor, has been notified by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) of the US Department of the Interior that the stop-work order for its Empire Wind project has been lifted.
The federal Bureau of Ocean Energy Management pointed to an update on its Empire Wind website saying its order to halt all work on the $7 billion project has been lifted "during the ongoing review" of the project's potential environmental impacts.
The scale has been in use for decades and gives an idea about what kind of wind damage a hurricane can produce, but it says nothing about impacts from storm surge, flooding rain and tornadoes.
On Thursday at 2:02 p.m. a wind advisory was released by the NWS San Diego CA valid from Friday 5 p.m. until Saturday 3 a.m. for San Gorgonio Pass Near Banning.
