With top scores in real-world coding benchmarks, Anthropic's new models, Claude Opus 4 and Sonnet 4 are here; here's what they can do.
Features that make Claude AI appealing to educators include a focus on privacy and conversational style. Claude AI offers several specific advantages over some other AI chatbots, or so I’ve recently learned.
Claude, developed by the AI safety startup Anthropic, has been pitched as the ethical brainiac of the chatbot world. With its focus on transparency, helpfulness and harmlessness (yes, really), Claude is quickly gaining traction as a trusted tool for everything from legal analysis to lesson planning.
In particular, that marathon refactoring claim reportedly comes from Rakuten, a Japanese tech services conglomerate that "validated [Claude's] capabilities with a demanding open-source refactor running independently for 7 hours with sustained performance," Anthropic said in a news release.

The Hechinger Report on MSNUniversity students offload critical thinking, other hard work to AI“This raises questions about ensuring students don’t offload critical cognitive tasks to AI systems,” the Anthropic researchers wrote. “There are legitimate worries that AI systems may provide a crutch for students, stifling the development of foundational skills needed to support higher-order thinking.”
Students in Advanced Computational Fields Are Accelerated Early Adapters of Generative AI Technology
In this post, we further analyze students’ usages of GenAI, exploring similarities and differences between two groups of undergraduate STEM students: those who are studying advanced computational (AC) fields such as computer science, electrical engineering, and data science, and all other undergraduate STEM students.

(Reuters) -Artificial intelligence lab Anthropic on Thursday unveiled its latest top-of-the-line technology, Claude Opus 4, which it says can write computer code autonomously for hours at a time.
