JR Motorsports is thought to be making a major leap into the NASCAR Cup Series by potentially entering the 2025 Daytona 500.

JR Motorsports has entered reigning Xfinity Series champion Justin Allgaier into next month's season-opening "Great American Race" in a Chevrolet sponsored by the whiskey label created by 10-time Grammy winner Chris Stapleton.

The NASCAR team owned by Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. will attempt to make its Cup Series debut in the biggest race with a champion driver and a partnership with a Grammy Award-winning artist

This marks the first time JR Motorsports has entered a car in a Cup race and it comes at the event Dale Earnhardt Jr. won twice as a driver.

Riverton native Justin Allgaier hopes to earn a spot in the Great American Race next month for car owner Dale Earnhardt Jr. The car’s primary sponsor is Traveller Whiskey, which is a brand collaboration between Buffalo Trace Distillery and Grammy award winner Chris Stapleton.
