MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Kevin Garnett will finally have his No. 21 formally retired by the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Timberwolves announced on Thursday they've hired the Hall of Fame member and franchise icon as a team ambassador, with a plan to honor Garnett in a jersey-raising ceremony at Target Center on a future date.
For the first time since December of 2003, the Minnesota Vikings, Timberwolves and Wild all won games on the same day.
The Timberwolves are 12-8 against Western Conference opponents. Minnesota ranks ninth in the Western Conference in rebounding averaging 43.5 rebounds. Rudy Gobert leads the Timberwolves with 10.3 boards. The Grizzlies are 11-8 in conference play. Memphis has a 5-9 record in games decided by 10 points or more.
