Ahmad "Sauce" Gardner, the heralded University of Cincinnati product, is having his Cincinnati homecoming thrown into doubt as he was in concussion protocol, according to the Jets, and did not participate in their Oct. 22 practice.

The Bengals will be without Mike Gesicki Thursday night against the Steelers. Also updates to Trey Hendrickson and Shemar Stewart.

The Bengals also have a concern at defensive end as Trey Hendrickson didn’t practice. He aggravated his right hip issue Sunday, playing only 23 of 73 snaps. He initially injured his hip in the Week 6 game against the Packers and didn’t play in the Thursday night game against the Steelers in Week 7.

The statuses of two prominent Bengals defensive leaders remains up in the air ahead of the Cincinnati-Chicago game.
