NEW YORK -- Philadelphia 76ers rookie VJ Edgecombe has been impressive to begin his maiden season in the league. The No. 3 overall pick is averaging 15.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists while shooting 41.2% from the floor and 38.8% from deep while playing 35 minutes a night in 22 games to begin the 2025-26 season.

About 30 miles away from where he went to high school, VJ Edgecombe played at Madison Square Garden for the first time. It was a performance to remember.
VJ Edgecombe might not put up the numbers to win Rookie of the Year, but his value to the Sixers can’t be quantified.
On Wednesday evening, the Sixers partnered with SNIPES to provide an experience for 10 local kids from the Youth Mentoring Partnership.
Nurse entered the season with the hopes that Embiid would grow his two-man game with the likes of rookie VJ Edgecombe along with Quentin Grimes and Paul George. The Sixers will continue to put the ball in the hands of the other perimeter players and allow them to work with Embiid in an effort to grow that two-man game with other players.
The 2026 NBA Rookie of the Year (ROY) race will likely come down to former Duke teammates Cooper Flagg and Kon Knueppel.
