Brady, the seven-time Super Bowl champion, is set to call the Week 9 match between the Minnesota Vikings and the Detroit Lions on Sunday, Nov. 2. The former New England Patriot signed a 10-year, $375 million contract with FOX Sports last year, replacing Greg Olsen, another ex-NFL star turned commentator.
The Vikings are welcoming back their starting running back just in time for prime time. Aaron Jones (hamstring) is expected to be activated and play against the Chargers on Thursday, per NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.
With Wentz landing on season-ending IR, the Vikings will need to add a third quarterback. Right now, McCarthy — who returns to the starting role this week — and rookie Max Brosmer are the only QBs on the roster. They don't have one on the practice squad.
J.J. McCarthy was solid in his return from a high ankle sprain on Sunday, throwing for 143 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in the Minnesota Vikings' 27-24 upset win over the Detroit Lions. He also rushed for a touchdown.
