Steps away from his locker stall, 357 days later, new coach Dan Quinn called over new general manager Adam Peters to celebrate the Commanders completing an improbable turnaround. Peters held a game ball from Washington's 30-24 overtime victory in his hand and addressed controlling owner Josh Harris.

The Commanders (11-5) beat the Atlanta Falcons (8-8) in an overtime thriller on “Sunday Night Football” in Week 17. After the Falcons tied the contest late, rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels threw the game-winning pass once again, this time in OT.

The Commanders can't win the NFC East after the Eagles' Week 17 win, but Washington can make the postseason with a victory over the Falcons.
