Carnival Cruise Line issued a statement following the release of a Netflix documentary covering Carnival Triumph's infamous "poop cruise."

The Carnival Triumph, stranded after an engine fire on February 10, was adrift without power, air conditioning, or functioning toilets. Passengers used blankets to shield themselves from the sun while seeking refuge on the open deck.

The terrifying events that unfolded on board are the focus of a new Netflix documentary released today (June 24) titled Trainwreck: Poop Cruise, which gives a hint as to what the Carnival Triumph's passengers went through.
