Arizona Diamondbacks star third baseman Eugenio Suárez took a fastball to the hand during Monday's game against the Detroit Tigers and had X-rays done, per USA Today's Bob Nightengale.

Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman and leading trade-deadline target Eugenio Suárez exited Monday night's eventual 5-1 loss to the Detroit Tigers after he was struck on the hand by a 95.6 mph pitch, but X-rays on his left index finger came back negative. He will get more testing Tuesday, he told reporters.

The Arizona Diamondbacks — and several other teams — were holding their breath on Monday when Eugenio Suarez left Monday’s game in the top of the ninth inning.
