During one of his two nights performing at the Ryman, Ringo Starr was surprised by Emmylou Harris who invited the former Beatles drummer to make his Grand Ole Opry.

Per Taste of Country, the former Beatles drummer, who recently released his country album “Look Up” — will headline a show at the Ryman. He was surprised on stage with the invite by Grand Ole Opry member Emmylou Harris. “When is that, July?” Starr said. “I’d love to. It’s an honor and a pleasure. Thank you.”

Starr will make his Opry debut on February 21 at the Grand Ole Opry House as part of the Opry’s ongoing 100th Anniversary celebration. Starr kicked off his sold-out two-night show (Jan. 14-15) at the Ryman Auditorium Tuesday night, to celebrate his new country album, Look Up.

Bill Anderson country singer, songwriter, and television host also known as “Whisperin’ Bill” released his most successful song ‘Still’ in 1963. In 1961 Anderson was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry.
