The video, which was captured by the family’s security camera, showed the puppy sniffing around in the backyard, before a snake lunged out from a nearby bush and coiled itself around the small dog.

The reticulated python, one of the longest snakes in the world, is commonly found across Southeast Asia, including Thailand, according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
