It’s tedious and tiring to move the 3D printing pen through the motions to build simple parts, but that’s the whole gimmick here. What’s wild is how good the results are.
A new Kickstarter project is setting out to create a 3D printing pen that works by recycling household plastic waste like plastic bottles, files, and bags.
2:00 pm April 21, 2016 By Julian Horsey YouTuber Tinkernut has created a desktop 3D printer using a 3D printing pen and a little skilful tinkering for the affordable price of just $65.
The US$99 price includes a single pen, power adapter, a set of colored plastic strands and some tools for cleaning, nozzle removal and adjusting temperature.
While the pen is easy to operate, actually using it to create a clean 3D model requires more patience than I was able to muster this morning.
The 3DSimo Mini pen can burn designs into wood, forge sculptures out of plastic, solder metal, and shear through foam.
