For his maiden voyage in the Daytona 500, Helio Castroneves has a winning crew chief and a notable sponsor on his Project 91 car. The four-time Indianapolis 500 champion is going to make an attempt to qualify for The Great American Race.

Four-time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves will attempt to make his NASCAR debut in next month's Daytona 500 with Trackhouse Racing.

Castroneves is not guaranteed a position in the Daytona 500 starting grid. Thirty-six of the 40 spots are taken via chartered rides. If more than 40 cars show up, Castroneves will have to earn his place in qualifying. Darian Grubb will serve as his crew chief.

Four-time Indianapolis 500 champion Helio Castroneves will attempt to make the Feb. 16 Daytona 500, driving Trackhouse Racing’s Project 91 car, the team announced Monday. Castroneves will be a teammate to Trackhouse Racing drivers Ross Chastain, Daniel Suarez and Shane van Gisbergen.
