According to Overland Park Fire Department, just before 3:30 a.m., crews from Overland Park, Olathe and Leawood Fire Departments were dispatched to a residential neighborhood on reports of a house fire near 141st Street and Nieman Road. Upon arrival, the first units reported seeing a heavy fire coming out of the roof of the two-story home.
Almaguer was not the subject of the arrest warrant federal agents had arrived to execute, but he hit an officer and led a high-speed chase across state lines.
