Pete Hegseth, President Donald Trump’s nominee for secretary of defense, faces a potential roadblock to becoming the head of the Pentagon with a claim of inappropriate behavior made by his former sister-in-law.

Vice President Vance cast a tie-breaking vote as Hegseth overcame allegations of sexual assault, public drunkenness and questions of financial mismanagement to win Senate approval.
