LANSING, MI -- A Clinton County woman’s yearly tradition landed her a $1 million jackpot prize while she was playing the Michigan Lottery’s Major Cashword instant game.
LAPEER COUNTY, MI – A Michigan man had a very happy New Year’s Eve after he found out he won a $1 million lottery prize. Robert Benaglio, of Dryden, matched the five white balls in the Dec. 23 Powerball drawing to win. He bought his winning ticket at the Metamora BP, located at 3839 South Lapeer Road in Metamora.
A ticket sold in Michigan has won $2 million in Saturday night's Powerball drawing, according to the Michigan Lottery. The ticket matched the five white balls drawn — 14, 31, 35, 64 and 69 —and along with the the Power Play, the ticket won $2 million.
"In 2024, 10 Michigan Lottery players became millionaires playing the Powerball game, including a lottery club that won an $842.4 million jackpot," added Michigan Lottery Commissioner Suzanna Shkreli.
“I have bought a Powerball ticket for one drawing each week for 10 years,” Robert Benaglio said, according to a Jan. 22 news release from the Michigan Lottery. So, he purchased a ticket for the Dec. 23 drawing at a gas station in Metamora. This time, winning him a $1 million prize.
