The Miami Heat are reportedly working with two NBA teams on a potential Jimmy Butler trade ahead of the Feb. 6 deadline.

Butler reportedly walked out of their shootaround Monday morning after being informed he would no longer start.

According to NBA insider Shams Charania of ESPN, the Miami Heat are suspending Jimmy Butler indefinitely. Butler, who has requested a trade from the Heat, walked out of shootaround this morning after being informed the team is planning not to start him.

Butler apparently walked out of shootaround Monday morning after learning the team wasn't going to start him in their game against the Orlando Magic, according to ESPN's Shams Charania. Haywood Highsmith will start in his place. Butler was set to return to the team Monday after serving a two-game suspension.

The indefinite suspension all but closes a complicated chapter of Butler's 14-year career. A six-time All-Star, an Eastern Conference finals MVP and the leader of two teams that went to the NBA Finals, Butler has taken each of his four franchises to heights they have struggled to replicate without him.

That’s because the Spurs — reportedly Fox’s preferred trade destination — currently have nine tradeable first-round picks that they can include in a deal to the Heat’s one tradeable first-round selection. San Antonio also has young talent such as Keldon Johnson, Devin Vassell and others who it can add to any trade package for Fox.

The NBA trade deadline is Feb. 6 and the buzz around notable players and teams is building. Keep an eye on players such as Jimmy Butler, Cameron Johnson, and Zach LaVine, who'll be linked to possible trades. Another star who has emerged in trade talks is Sacramento Kings guard De'Aaron Fox.
