Here we are again, in which the top two teams in men's college hockey may be so close that they could be listed as 1 and 1A. Michigan and Michigan State are both off to a stellar stellar start and could be listed atop the college hockey polls.

The Spartans return to the ice next weekend in the Upper Peninsula where they’ll take on Northern Michigan on October 24-25.

During the first game on Friday, which was nationally televised on ESPN 2, the Spartans dominated. Michigan State won 4-2, but Boston University only got within two late because of a goal with one minute left while it had a power play and an empty net that created a 6-on-4 advantage.
