Seven different Spurs scored in double digits in a balanced offensive attack that saw the Spurs fall short to the Los Angeles Lakers. Victor Wembanyama led the team with 19 points and 8 rebounds, while Stephon Castle and Jeremy Sochan contributed 16 points apiece.

In San Antonio's following contest against the New Orleans Pelicans on Oct. 24, Wembanyama would attempt to top his opening night performance by scoring 29 points, pulling down 11 rebounds and swatting nine shots in an eventual 120-116 overtime win.
