Turkish side Besiktas have appointed former Manchester United player and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as head coach, the club has confirmed.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been confirmed as the new head coach of Turkish club Besiktas. The former Manchester United manager has signed a one-and-a-half-year contract until the end of the 2025-26 campaign with the option of an additional 12 months.

Former Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is closing in on a return to managment with Turkish side Besiktas. Solskjaer has not managed a club since leaving United in November 2021, turning down a number of roles with clubs and national teams since leaving Old Trafford.

Solskjaer will return to the dugout at Turkish club Besiktas. The Norwegian tactician has been without a managerial role since leaving Old Trafford in November 2021. His move will see him come up against another former Manchester United manager - Jose Mourinho - who is currently in charge of Fenerbahce.
