Just like “The Way of Water” introduced the aquatic Metkayina clan of Pandora, “Fire and Ash” will debut a new group called the Ash People. At the 2024 D23 Expo, Cameron came on stage to debut a teaser to attendees, which showed the fearsome, soot-covered tribe who danced around a giant fire pit.

Scenes hang in smoke-drenched oranges and greys, as if grief itself has leaked into the soil.
Avatar: Fire and Ash will be released in global theatres on December 19, 2025. Initially, after witnessing the box office numbers of the first film, Cameron announced two sequels. He wanted to get them released in 2014 and 2015, respectively. However, it seems fate had some different plans.
Despite takedown efforts, footage from ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ has already sparked significant fan reactions online. One viewer remarked, “The trailer has some of the most beautiful footage I've seen all year, and I was struck by the real sense of doom and rage — fist fights inside of cosmic volcanoes, heroes terrified, huge aerial battles.”
