Israel said Monday that more than 120 truckloads of food aid were distributed by the U.N. and aid agencies in the Gaza Strip, French news agency AFP reported. Both aid groups and people with family in Gaza described the situation as the worst it has ever been.

The president described the food crisis in the enclave as a “terrible situation,” and said the U.S. would set up food centers and fund the effort along with European nations.

President Trump said today that the U.S. would do more to help the starving population in Gaza. After a meeting in Scotland with Britain’s prime minister, the president criticized the aid distribution effort his administration has backed in Gaza and said he wanted to create more easily accessible food sites.
