The Baton Rouge Police Department has arrested a third suspect accused in a hazing death investigation of a Southern University student. Caleb Wilson, a Kenner native and Warren Easton graduate, died in what investigators say was a fraternity hazing ritual.

Caleb Wilson died after being punched in the chest during an alleged off-campus hazing incident in Baton Rouge, police said.

On Feb. 26, Caleb Wilson, a 20-year-old junior at Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, died. Police say Wilson was brought to a nearby hospital before 3 a.m. on Feb. 26 by a group of men who said he collapsed while playing basketball in a nearby park. All of those men had left the hospital before police arrived.

All three individuals charged are Southern University and A&M College students, a spokesperson for the university confirmed Tuesday afternoon.

New updates reveal that Wilson died as a direct result of being punched in the chest four times while pledging Omega Psi Phi.

Baton Rouge police on Tuesday announced the arrests of 25-year-old Kyle Thurman and 28-year-old Isaiah Smith. They were both charged with criminal hazing.

Following the death of Southern University and A&M College student Caleb Wilson following a suspected hazing incident, three fellow fraternity members have been arrested.
