Mac was diagnosed in 2018, the same year Sinise's wife, actress Moira Harris, was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. She is now cancer-free after undergoing months of treatment.

While Moira Harris Sinise thankfully survived her encounter with breast cancer, Mac — despite multiple surgeries — died Jan. 5 and was laid to rest 18 days later.

"My wife [Moira Harris] had been diagnosed with breast cancer. My son was diagnosed with this very rare cancer you know, within two months of each other," the actor revealed.
