Gambling has become a major topic, and a concerning one in some aspects, across all sports, including at the collegiate level. But based on the latest news involving Kalshi, a prediction market, President Charlie Baker has now had to release a statement with full opposition from the NCAA.

Athletes announcing they will enter the transfer portal and have the opportunity to switch schools is common at the end of each sports season. Similar moves will take place as the NCAA basketball season winds down in the spring, and after all other sanctioned NCAA sports seasons.

Ohio State wide receiver Bryson Rodgers confirmed plans to enter the transfer portal in January after three seasons with the Buckeyes.

Prediction market Kalshi filed notice that it intends to offer trading on the transfer portal, prompting the NCAA to say it "vehemently opposes college sports prediction markets."
