Samoa Joe salutes John Cena in his AEW world title defense at Dynamite Winter is Coming
Joe’s salute was a subtle nod to the retiring legend, delivered with a heelish look on his face so as to not contradict the story he and Eddie Kingston were telling in the ring. It came after a slam out of a fireman’s carry on Kingston that looked a lot like an Attitude Adjustment, and after Joe locked in the STF.
During Collision, it was also announced that Kris Statlander would defend the AEW Women’s Championship against Jamie Hayter on December 27. The two were successful on Saturday, defeating The Sisters of Sin. Backstage after the match, Hayter issued the challenge for Worlds End. Statlander accepted, but the two started to argue right after.
Hangman Page won the AEW World Championship from Jon Moxley at All In: Texas this year. Page was on top of the world following this win and defended the title a few times.

Samoa Joe to defend AEW world title in three-way at Worlds End PPV
It would appear that Tony Khan agrees with both Hangman and Swerve. AEW announced the three-way world title bout for Worlds End on December 27 from Chicago, IL. They did this tango once before at Revolution 2024 when Joe submit Hangman in the Coquina Clutch to retain the championship.
