Smoke from Canadian wildfires is causing air quality concerns for millions of Americans in the Midwest and Northeast.  Air quality alerts were in effect Tuesday in several states, including Michigan and New York.

Smoke from Canada’s raging wildfires has travelled over 5,000 kilometres across the Atlantic Ocean, reaching parts of Europe and blanketing cities with haze and black carbon. Over the past 24 hours, the eastern regions of the continent have reported hazy skies, prompting concerns about the far-reaching effects of wildfire emissions.

The EPA says if you are sensitive to particle pollution, consider reducing your activity level or shorten the amount of time you are outdoors.
