The summer single, one of several to come from a feud with fellow rapper Drake, was one of the biggest songs of 2024, hitting the top of Billboard's Hot 100.

Drake is suing his record label for spreading a “false and malicious narrative” when it released and promoted Kendrick Lamar’s diss track “Not Like Us.”

Drake is battling his own record label over a song that is the lynchpin of a now legendary hip-hop feud.

In a federal lawsuit on Wednesday, Drake accused Universal Music Group of putting his life and reputation at risk by releasing and promoting the popular diss track.

The “God’s Plan” rapper previously filed a similar complaint against UMG in New York, but he dropped that case in order to file his federal suit.

The rapper, whose full name is Aubrey Drake Graham, accused Universal Music Group of approving and publishing Lamar's diss track "Not Like Us," which the complaint says includes allegations that UMG " understood were not only false, but dangerous."

Drake sued his longtime label on Wednesday, accusing Universal Music Group of defamation for promoting Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us," saying the song's false accusation that the Canadian rapper is a pedophile has put him and his family in danger.
