LONDON: The United States and China are set to resume trade negotiations in London in a bid to further defuse tensions over rare earth minerals and advanced technology following a phone call between leaders Donald Trump and Xi Jin Ping last week.

China has reported its exports to the United States fell 35% in May from a year earlier, straining the economy, as trade talks with Washington were due to start in London

Chinese exports rose less than expected last month as the worst drop in shipments to the US in more than five years counteracted strong demand from other markets.
