Soaring temperatures throughout the United States wreaked havoc across Major League Baseball on Saturday, with Cincinnati Reds shortstop Elly De La Cruz and Seattle Mariners reliever Trent Thornton both falling ill in their respective games.

After getting thrown out at home while trying to take an extra base on a triple, De La Cruz drank a lot of water. It didn't stay down long.

A star shortstop vomited on the field and a pitcher had to be helped off while playing in the extreme heat that covered much of the United States.
