Ogunbowale, the 2020 league scoring champion, finished 2-of-14 from the floor and 1-of-8 from three. She scored the bulk of her eight points at the line, three nights after free throws accounted for half of her 16 points in Dallas’ home-opening loss to the Minnesota Lynx.

Rookie Paige Bueckers led the Wings with 19 points in the loss but looked more comfortable with the speed and physicality of the game than in her WNBA debut.

It was a battle of the top two picks from the 2025 WNBA draft between Bueckers and Seattle’s Dominique Malonga. Malonga shares a home country with Wembanyama, as both are from France and have both played for the French national teams.
