A Cambodian government official has praised U.S. President Donald Trump for "bringing about peace" after Thailand and Cambodia agreed to a cease-fire starting at midnight local time on Monday.

Donald Trump said on Saturday that he had called the leaders of Cambodia and Thailand, pressing them for an immediate ceasefire following border clashes.

Anwar said late Sunday that both sides would present their conditions for peace but "what is important is immediate ceasefire."
