The Dragon Bravo fire has burned more than 5,000 acres and destroyed numerous historic Grand Canyon structures.

A group of bipartisan lawmakers and officials have called for an investigation into how the Dragon Bravo Fire was able to grow and destroy dozens of structures, including the historic Grand Canyon Lodge.

The fire on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon started from a lightning strike but was managed as a controlled burn until it spread.

The Dragon Bravo Fire started on July 4 and was managed at first as a controlled burn. Then the wind picked up, and it quickly became uncontrollable.

A Grand Canyon water treatment facility located at the North Rim caught fire on Saturday, causing chlorine gas to be released into the air. Multiple closures are being enforced due to the incident.
