There was no indication Damarco Thompson would appear at trial until the state produced him on Wednesday morning. Judge Carolina Lamas signed an order compelling him to testify.

Damarco Thompson took the stand on Wednesday, testifying that his brother, Derrick Thompson, was the person who was driving at the time of the fatal crash that killed five women in Minneapolis in 2023.

Thompson’s defense has said that it was Damarco Thompson who was driving the Cadillac Escalade during the crash that killed five Somali-American young women in south Minneapolis.
