Just like “The Way of Water” introduced the aquatic Metkayina clan of Pandora, “Fire and Ash” will debut a new group called the Ash People. At the 2024 D23 Expo, Cameron came on stage to debut a teaser to attendees, which showed the fearsome, soot-covered tribe who danced around a giant fire pit.

The film's screenplay is by James Cameron, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. Cameron, Jaffa and Silver penned the story along with Josh Friedman and Shane Salerno. 20th Century Studios India will release Avatar: Fire and Ash on December 19, 2025 in 6 languages, English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
